  • You can duplicate with the copy and paste command
    • In Blender, select the object, in 3D Viewport, you choose Copy Objects Ctrl + c
      • Then choose Paste Objects Ctrl + v
    • They are copied and pasted in the same location.
      • See it in the outliner
      • Move it to see it
  • You can use the duplicate command to work on the object selected.
    • in 3D viewport Object -> Duplicate Objects
      • Hotkey: Shift + d
    • The difference is that you can move the object right away as if you pressed the g hotkey, which is the grab command.
    • The g command allows you to grab the object and move it. In older versions of Blender, this was the main way to move the object. The move manipulator wasn't so prominent.

Reset (Clear)

  • Reset transformation values to default.

    • Translation (move), and rotate back to zero
    • Scale back to one.
  • Transform side bar on the right of the 3D viewport

    • Hotkey: n
  • Reset is called clear in Blender

    • Located in 3D Viewport menu:
      • Object -> Clear -> Location
        • Hotkey: alt + g
      • Object -> Clear -> Rotation
        • Hotkey: alt + r
      • Object -> Clear -> Scale
        • Hotkey: alt + s
  • Can reset all by right clicking in the transform side bar and choosing Reset All to Default Values for Move (Location,) Rotation, and Scale individually.

    • Can do the same thing in the Properties editor.

How to Download Previous Versions of Blender

Blender is an amazing, fully functional 3D package. What really makes it appealing is that fact that you can download any version on the many platforms it supports at anytime.

As mentioned on blender.org own website:

"You will always be able to download every version of Blender at any time. It’s yours to keep, forever!"

 

This is appealing because you can version lock your production to a specific version. You can come back to it years later (maybe you are working on a sequel,) and you can use the exact same version and features your project was built on. Still to this day, this is a major problem in studios using popular commercial software. They can't get older versions because of licensing or it is simply not available anymore. They can't use the new versions because the features they built their pipeline on is deprecated or works differently.
